DHAKA: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has said that no more reschedule will be needed for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations for 2015 due to hartal.

The minister came up with the hope while visiting SSC examination hall in city’s Azimpur on Friday.

Nahid said that about 15-lakh students are participating in the examination this year. They neither belong to Awami League nor BNP, he added.

The SSC examination has been rescheduled twice due to the five-day hartal called by the BNP-led 20-party coalition.

The examination of February 2 was held on Friday (February 6), according to the latest announcement.

This year, a total of 1,479,266 students are participating in the examinations from 10 education board at some 3,116 centers across the country.

The education minister added: “The students are future of the country. They will lead the country for next 30-40 years. So the examinations should not be rescheduled due to hartal which hampered their confidence.”

He also criticized the hartal called by Chhatra Dal in Sylhet. However, the first day of SSC examination was held without any unpleasant incidents.

Mentioning that there was no leak of question papers this year, the minister also urged all concerned for not to spread any confusion in this regard
