‘Boats of Bangladesh’ book launched at IGCC

DHAKA: Being a riverine country, boats occupied an important place for the movement of Bangladeshi people.

A photographer of outstanding repute and a writer MA Taher’s book ‘Boats of Bangladesh’ was launched at Indira Gandhi Cultural Center (IGCC) in Gulshan-1 area in the city Thursday evening.

Acting High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Sandeep Chakravorty, eminent artist Sahabuddin Ahmed, and adviser of Green Delta Insurance Co Lts Nasir A Choudhury jointly unveiled the book cover.

The ‘Boats of Bangladesh’ depicts the vibrant life of people around the rivers of the country.

The photographs in the book showed, in vivid detail, the rich connection between the people of Bangladesh and its rivers.

India-Bangladesh Foundation was the assistant organizer of the book launching ceremony.
