DHAKA: Government is set to take an initiative to admit the students, who have passed Secondary School Certificate (SSC) this year, in Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) on online to put a stop of irregularities in college admission process.

Dhaka Education Board college inspector Asfakus Salehin confirmed the matter to banglanews on Saturday.

Currently, the colleges admit students based on their results in SSC or equivalent examinations.

The boards were asked to complete admission processes on online in case of colleges, which were allowed to admit more than 300 students.

Moreover, the colleges which have permissions to admit more than 500 students must complete their admission processes on online, he added.

Asfakus Salehin further said all the institutions will be brought under this system.

However, a total of 1,479,266 students took part in the SSC examinations this year.
