DHAKA: The admission test for the Postgraduate Diploma in Capital Market (PGDCM) program under the Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM) will be held on November 7.

Application form of the 1-year-long PGDCM program is available at website Application Form-PGDCM or office with fee of Tk. 500 (nonrefundable) paid by-‘Pay Order drawn in favor of Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM)’

The application should be reached at BICM on or before October 31, 2015, said Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) website.

A Bachelor degree or its equivalent students in any discipline will be eligible for apply. Minimum second class in all public examinations or CGPA 3.75 in 5-point scale and 3 in 4 point scale in any examination.

After passing the written test (on English, Mathematics, Analytical Ability and General Knowledge) and Viva- Voce, a total of 45 students, including 20% Institutional quota, will be selected for the program.

Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM) is the national institute for imparting practical capital market education and training.

BICM is striving to be a center of professional excellence through disseminating recent and updated theoretical and practical knowledge.

BICM is offering PGDCM for the market intermediaries, full spectrum of market professionals and graduates who aspire to pursue career in the capital market.

The diploma will provide a blend of theoretical and practical knowledge on market mechanism, legal framework, new instruments and techniques.

The 1- year long PGDCM program consists of 13 courses of 36 credit hours including internship. The program is divided into three trimesters. Four courses are offered in each trimester as follows:
A. Core Courses:

Code: 101- The Bangladesh Financial Markets;

Code: 102- Economics;

Code: 103- Financial Mathematics and Statistics;

Code: 104- Analysis and Interpretation of Financial Statements.

B.  Intermediate Courses:

Code: 201- Security Analysis;

Code: 202- Forecasting & Basic Econometrics;

Code: 203- Capital Markets Operations;

Code: 204- Legal Environment.

C.  Advance Courses:

Code: 301- Corporate Finance and Portfolio Management;

Code: 302- Financial Derivatives and Alternative Instruments;

Code: 303- Regulations and Ethics in the Capital Markets;

Code: 304- Financial Modeling.
