DHAKA: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said school or college authorities will not be allowed to go on picnic in other districts without authorization of district commissioner or education officer.

He made the remarks on Monday noon (January 30) while visiting injured school teachers and students, currently undergoing treatment in Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), of Jessore Chowgacha picnic bus accident.

Minister told journalists that school-college must arrange their picnic in their own district from now; otherwise actions will be taken against them.

Earlier on January 25, a school picnic bus from Chowgacha upazila of Jessore district collided on the way to Shopnopuri picnic spot in Dinajpur district leaving a few people dead on spot and many others critically injured.
