MADARIPUR:  A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained six teachers for defying the government ban on running coaching centers  in Rajoir upazila of the district.

A team of RAB-8 accompanied by district administration conducted the joint drive at Tekerhat area of the upazila on Thursday morning (January 31).

The 8 teachers are- Nripen Basu, 33, Asim Mondol, 38, Palash Mondal, 46, Akhil Kumar Pal, 46, Arifuzzaman, 30, and Rakib Hasan, 30 -of 'Antar English Teaching Center' and 'Prattay Coaching Center'.

Executive magistrate of mobile court Anwar Hossain fined first four detainees Taka one thousand each but the rest two were released upon bond  

RAB-8 camp company commander also Additional Superintendent of Police of Madaripur camp Raicha Uddin confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Ministry of Education took the decision to shut all coaching centers for one month in order to prevent question paper leaks ahead of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations.
