DHAKA: European Union (EU) donated Tk 1,925 crore 43 lakh to boost primary, technical and madrasha education in Bangladesh. 

Bangladesh Economic Relations Division Secretary Monowar Ahmed and EU Ambassador to Bangladesh Rensje Teerink signed a deal in this regard, at NEC Conference Room in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Tuesday (Feb 5).

The donation was granted under a project titled “Primary Education Development Program-4”.

Loan and donation are expected to be taken under the same project from World Bank, Asian Development Bank, JICA and UNICEF. 

However, the money will also be used under a project titled “Human Capital Development Program for Bangladesh 2021”, for further extension of primary level and technical education.
