DHAKA UNIVERSITY: The Dhaka University students who had been on a hunger strike until death demanding reelection to Ducsu ended it at the assurance of Pro VC Prof Muhammad Samad.

The students were fed water and lassi after 11 pm on Friday (March 15).

Newly-elected Ducsu VP Nurul Haq Nur, GS Golam Rabbani, and AGS Md Saddam Hussain went to the students.

"We’ll listen to our demands. There is no end to transparency. Later on, we’ll give more emphasis,” Prof Maksud Kamal, president of Dhaka University Teachers' Association said.

New VP Nurul Haq Nur said, “I’m aware of the fact that irregularities crept into elections. I agree with the decision to remove Rokeya Hall provost. I stand by you and I will stand by you. Weather condition is not today. You please end your strike.” 

Dhaka University Central Students’ Union election held on Monday (March 12).
