DHAKA: Secretary of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Dr Md. Khaled has been made the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) on corruption charges. 

The decision was made at the 156th meeting of the full commission of the UGC on Tuesday (September 27th) on charge of having influence in the recruitment test.
    
UGC chairman key-personal secretary Md Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the matter.

He was made OSD after applying influence in the recruitment test of the UGC's assistant director, according to a commission source.

Secretary Md Khaled has discharged on the recruitment committee without being informed of the commission that his daughter appeared in the test even after the examination. 

A three-member inquiry committee was formed making former member of the commission Dr Md Yusuf Ali Mollah its convener. 

The investigation found evidence of having influence against the secretary. In this regard, the Commission decided to make him OSD.
