DHAKA: A student of a private medical college has committed suicide for failing in her exam at the last academic year.

The deceased was identified as Umme Fahima Hossen Diba, 26, wife of Gazi Delwar Hossen. She was from Ramadia village under Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj. Diba used to live in a rented house with her husband Sharif Shahriar Shuvo and a daughter at Boro Moghbazar area in the capital.

According to family source, Diba hanged herself with a scarf tied to the shower of her bathroom on Friday dawn (February 21). Family claimed Diba had committed suicide for failing in exam.

Dead body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy report on Saturday (February 22). Autopsy report will reveal cause of her death, Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ramna Police Station, told Banglanews.
