The ongoing closure of educational institutions across the country has been extended till November 14 due to the lingering coronavirus pandemic and a possible second wave of infection during the coming winter.
 
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni made the announcement at a virtual press briefing on Thursday.

She said the closure will be extended till November 14. Meanwhile, the government is planning to reopen the institutions in small scale maintaining health guidelines. 
 
Earlier on March 16, the Ministry of Education issued a press release regarding the government decision of closing all educational institutions and coaching centres from March 18 to 31 in wake of Covid-19 outbreak.
 
Later the closure was extended till October 31 in several phases. No classes have been held since that day.
