The ongoing closure of educational institutions across the country has been extended till December 19 due to the lingering coronavirus pandemic and a possible second wave of infection during the coming winter.
 
M A Khayer, public relations officer of Education Ministry, made the announcement on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni yesterday said the government is planning to resume small scale educational activities for some classes. 
 
Earlier on March 16, the Ministry of Education issued a press release regarding the government decision of closing all educational institutions and coaching centres from March 18 to 31 in wake of Covid-19 outbreak.
 
Later the closure was extended till November 14 in several phases. No classes have been held since that day.
