Unvaccinated students can't go to schools

Cabinet secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam has said students won't not be allowed to go to their schools without taking Covid vaccine.

He said, "Students above 12 years old cannot go to schools without taking the first dose of Covid vaccine. Besides, no one can go outside without masks." 

The cabinet secretary made the disclosure in a press briefing after cabinet meeting on Thursday (Jan 6).

He said that if it is easy and safe for students to go to school after vaccination, promotion campaign in this regard will be launched.

Khandker Anwarul also said the government has planned to make certificates showing full vaccination against Covid-19 mandatory for people to dine at restaurants, enter shopping malls or travel by planes, trains and launches to fight the Omicron variant of coronavirus.

The Cabinet Secretary said that restrictions will be imposed on holding meetings and events.

Besides, people will not be allowed to enter the Trade Fair and Book Fair without vaccination cards.
