Renowned band singer Khalid passed away at a private hospital in the capital on Monday (March 18) evening due to a heart attack.

He breathed his last at Comfort Hospital in Panthapath at 7:15pm.

The news was confirmed t by music producer and sound engineer Isha Khan Duray.

Khalid is best known for his songs "Shorolotar Protima", "Himaloy", "Kono Karonei", among dozens of other hits during the 90's and 2000's.

He was the vocalist of a band called "Chime". He joined this band in 1983.
