Shah Rukh Khan celebrates his 59th birthday

Shah Rukh Khan is celebrating his 59th birthday today (November 2). Known as the Baadshah of Bollywood and King of Romance, he is one of the most popular actors globally.

Thanks to his looks, charm, and impressive performances, Shah Rukh Khan commands fans wherever he goes. But the journey to international stardom wasn’t an easy one.

Just like other big names in the Hindi film industry, Shah Rukh Khan also had a humble beginning, and his path to recognition was nothing short of extraordinary.

On his 59th birthday, let’s reflect on the actor’s journey, his love story, and the times he spoke about his family.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Journey In Showbiz

Shah Rukh Khan’s journey to stardom is one of determination, passion, and resilience. After completing his bachelor’s degree in Economics, he decided to try acting.

He made his on-screen debut with the TV show Fauji followed by minor roles in Umeed and Wagle Ki Duniya.

Until then, SRK had no plans to switch to films, but his mother, Lateef Fatima Khan’s death led him to do so.

He moved to Mumbai and began actively looking for roles in Bollywood.

Shah Rukh Khan’s debut film, Deewana, released in 1992, catapulted him to immense fame. There was no looking back after that.

Over the next few years, he starred in several cult classics, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Baazigar, Baadshah, Veer Zaara, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Devdas, and Kal Ho Na Ho.

Despite having so many blockbusters to his name, SRK went through a rough phase in the mid and late 2010s. He decided to take a hiatus after the release of Zero in 2018.

And after a four-year break, he made a brilliant comeback with not one but three box-office blockbusters — Pathan, Jawan and Dunki.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Love Story

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Chibber (now Khan) met in Delhi when they were teenagers. Despite many differences and a fair share of ups and downs in their relationship, the two remained committed to each other.

They even briefly broke up due to Shah Rukh’s possessiveness.

Eventually, they found a way back to each other and decided to tie the knot in 1991. They got married even before the actor’s massive stardom.

After more than three decades of marriage and raising three children, Aryan, Suhana and AbRam, their bond has withstood the test of time, industry pressures, and the complexities of fame.
