Noted actor Masum Parvez Rubel and two others were injured in a road accident in Madaripur on Saturday. 

The accident occurred around 10:30 am in Samaddar area of Madaripur on the way from Dhaka to Patuakhali.

According to the highway police, three people, including actor Rubel, were injured on the spot when a Barisal-bound Hiace microbus lost control and hit a tree on the Dhaka Barisal highway. 

They were rescued and admitted to Madaripur Sadar Hospital with the help of the fire service and highway police.

Mustafapur highway police inspector Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter.

Rubel is currently serving as the vice-president of the Bangladesh Film Artists' Association. His career in the Bengali film industry began with the film Laraku, directed by Shahidul Islam Khokon in 1986. Over the years, he has appeared in more than 200 films, with notable works including Mayer Jonno Juddho, Bichchu Bahini, Utthan Poton, Bajromusti, and Vondo.
