A Dhaka court has issued an arrest warrant for actress Pori Moni after she failed to appear at a hearing in a case involving allegations of assault, vandalism, and intimidation against businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud.

The Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court issued the order following a hearing on Sunday, confirmed by the defendant's lawyer, Nilanjana Rifat Suravi.

Pori Moni has faced multiple legal battles in recent years, including a narcotics case that the High Court ruled would proceed.

The current case originates from a June 2021 incident at the Dhaka Boat Club, where Pori Moni accused Nasir Uddin Mahmud and others of attempted rape and murder. In response, Nasir Uddin filed a counter-case against her, alleging assault and intimidation.
