Actress and filmmaker Meher Afroz Shaon has been arrested.

She was taken into custody from Dhaka’s Dhanmondi area on Thursday night, according to the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

DMP Additional Commissioner (DB) Rezaul Karim Mallik confirmed the matter. 

He said Shaon was arrested on charges of conspiracy against the state. She is being taken to the DB office for questioning regarding the allegations.

She will be presented before the court tomorrow, where police will seek remand for further investigation, he added.
