Director of ‘Nandita Narake’ passes away

DHAKA: Belal Ahmed, director of critically acclaimed movie ‘Nandita Narake’, passed away on Monday.

The 64-year-old director, who breathed his last at city’s Square Hospital around 11:30am, had been suffering from cardiac arrest, his family sources told banglanews.

He, however, left behind his wife and a son to mourn his death.

‘Nayaner Alo’, ‘Nagor Dola’, ‘Bandhan’, ‘Ganga-Jamuna’ and ‘Onishchit Jatra’ are among his directed movies.

Belal Ahmed’s last movie was ‘Tabuo Bhalobashi’, released in association with Impress Telefilm.

He has been buried at Banani Graveyard after namaj-e-janaza at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) after the asar prayer.
