JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY: Jahangirnagar University (JU) has dedicated the 2019 edition of its wintertime festival ‘Him Utshob’ to legendary rock singer Ayub Bachchu who passed away in late 2018.

Tasbibul Gani Niloy, one of the organizers, confirmed the matter to Banglanews Wednesday (Jan 16).

The three-day long festival kicked off on JU’s picturesque campus in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital city Thursday (Jan 17).

An open platform named ‘Poromporay Amra’ has been organizing the festival in winter each year. 

The festival includes Him Yatra (walking in cold weather), classical music, open concert and painting and photography exhibitions among the events.
