BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, 80, was admitted to The London Clinic today for advanced treatment under the care of consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist, Patrick Kennedy. 

Her admission was confirmed by Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the party's media cell, citing her personal physician Zahid Hossain.

Khaleda, who left Dhaka on a special air ambulance sent by the Emir of Qatar, arrived in London earlier today, landing at Heathrow International Airport at 2:55 pm. 
She was received by her son Tarique Rahman, acting BNP chairman, and other family members. This marks the first meeting between Khaleda and Tarique in seven years.

Khaleda, diagnosed with liver cirrhosis in 2021, has been facing multiple health complications, including heart and kidney issues. Her doctors have long recommended treatment abroad.
