A total of seven dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours, according to a statement from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to a press release issued by DGHS on Friday (January 31), one patient was admitted in Chattogram (outside the city corporation area), four in Dhaka North City Corporation, and one in Dhaka South City Corporation.
During the same period, five dengue patients were discharged from hospitals.
So far this year, 1,018 patients have recovered and been released.
As of January 31, a total of 1,161 people have been infected with dengue in 2024, with 61.6% being male and 38.4% female.
While no deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours, dengue has claimed 10 lives so far this year. In 2023, a total of 321,179 people were hospitalized with dengue, and 1,705 died from the disease.
Between January 1 and December 31, 2024, Bangladesh recorded 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths.
