Doctors postpone strike in Khulna

KHULNA: After getting assurance from local lawmaker and administration, doctors postponed their strike in Khulna for four days.

Hundreds of doctors, the lifeline of the medical services at government, private hospitals and clinics in Khulna, went on strike on March 3 protesting assault of a medical officer, that lead to immense sufferings of patients and their guardians.

Doctors demanded arrest and exemplary punishment of upazila Awami League president and Sadar UP chairman SM Ohiduzzaman for assaulting medical officer of Terakada Health Complex.

On Sunday, BMA Khulna president Dr Baharul Alam confirmed the matter of postponement, but warned of further strike if accused is not punished.
