DHAKA: Health and family welfare minister Mohammad Nasim is a non-smoker and he hates smoking.

He also declared the health ministry as a ‘Smoke Free Zone’ in the Secretariat.
 
Besides, the minister made an announcement for the students that smokers would not be admitted to medical colleges since last year.

Awareness should be made among students so that they keep themselves away from smoking.

The Health Minister told Banglanews that the government has taken all possible initiatives to control tobacco products.

Even though, the country has tobacco control laws, but in practice they are not effective.

However, the health minister is sincere about tobacco control laws.
