CHITTAGONG: A new Cobalt60 machine has been installed at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Tuesday (Nov 13) to provide patients radiotherapy for cancer. 

City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin launched the service at the hospital, around 1pm. 

CMCH Director Brig Gen Mohsen Uddin Ahmed, CMCH Vice-Principal Pradeep Kumar, BMA-Chittagong President Dr Md Mujibul Huq, Secretary General Iqbal Chowdhury and Radiotherapy Surgeon Ali Asghar, among others, were present.   

A team of Health Ministry declared the old machine dysfunctional, during a visit at CMCH Sept 20.
