Bangladesh reports 16 deaths, 697 corona cases in 24-hr

Bangladesh today confirmed 16 deaths from the coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 7,922. 

According to the Health authorities, 697 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 528,329.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the update of the country’s coronavirus situation issuing a press release this afternoon.

As 736 patients have recovered in last 24 hours, the number of total recoveries reached 473,173, it also said.

A total of 3,470,160 samples have been tested so far with 12,707 samples tested in 199 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country in last 24 hours, the release added. 

Bangladesh reported its first Coronavirus case on March 8 while first death on March 18 in last year.
