Dengue: 4 die, 896 hospitalised in last 24 hours

Four dengue patients died and 896 more people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours Thursday (Oct 20).

In the 24 hours, 537 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 359 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 2,169 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Dhaka while 1,015 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 28,698 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 25,414 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, this year a total 110 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today. 

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
