DHAKA: A jihadist group linked to Al-Qaeda claimed responsibility for what it called a double suicide bombing on Tuesday outside the Iranian embassy in Beirut, which killed at least 25 people.

‘This is a double martyrdom operation carried out by two heroes from the heroic Sunnis of Lebanon,’ Sirajeddin Zreikat, a member of the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, wrote on his Twitter account, reports The Straits Times.

The brigades threatened more attacks in Lebanon until Iran pulled its forces out of Syria and their prisoners were released from Lebanese jails, the post added.
