Huji attack feared in BD mission in Kolkata

KOLKATA:  Indian Home Ministry has cautioned West Bengal government of a suspected attack on Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata by banned Islamic outfit Harkat-ul Jihad (Huji).   

 

Following a message from the centre, the West Bengal government has taken extra security measure.

 

A strict security parameter is also in place for the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission office since Monday with special security for Deputy High Commissioner Syed Masud Mohammad Khondakar, according to a top official of the West Bengal Police who preferred not to be named.

 

The message from New Delhi said that Huji`s 31 operatives are now in Kolkata with a target on Bangladesh Deputy High Commission at Bangabandu Sheikh Mujib Sarony of Park Circus.

 

According to intelligence agencies` report the Huji team also includes a women member named Sayeda Jasmine Khanam who came to Kolkata from Daranji village near Panchanbibi Hatkhola of Joypurhat in Bangladesh.

 

Intelligence agencies suspect that several operatives are likely to invade New Delhi.

 

Kolkata police has launched a drive in Kolkata to find out the Huji team.
