DHAKA: Afghan security forces captured two Taliban commanders from Khinjan district of Baghlan province with Pul-e-Khumri as its capital 160 km north of Kabul on Friday night.

Provincial police chief Aminullah Omarkhil said Saturday.

‘Acting upon intelligence report, our police launched an operation and captured two Taliban commanders named Mullah Ajab Gul and Mullah Ahsanullah from Khinjan district on Friday night,’ Omarkhil told Xinhua, reports The Voice of Russia.

Both the arrested militants, after receiving training in Pakistan, were on way to Kunduz province to conduct subversive activities, he further said.

Taliban militants fighting in both Baghlan and the neighbouring Kunduz province are yet to make comment.
