Muslims offered special prayers for rain at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka today (April 25) as a heatwave continues to disrupt people's lives across the country.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued another three-day (72 hours) heat warning, the third in a row, with temperatures remaining high in most of the country after days of scorching weather.
This warning was issued on Thursday morning. It may continue for the next three days, the Met Office said.
The Met Office cites increased moisture incursion as a factor contributing to the sustained uncomfortable conditions.
This announcement follows earlier alerts issued on April 19 and April 22, as the Met Office continues to monitor and respond to the challenging weather patterns affecting the region.
