DHAKA: US senor advisor for Myanmar affairs Judith Cefkin is likely to arrive here on a two-day visit on February 2.

US department of state said on Thursday that she will be visiting United Kingdom, Bangladesh and Myanmar from January 30 to February 8.

During her visit, this US envoy will stay in Bangladesh in February 2 and 3.

She will meet several high officials of the government and members of civil society in Dhaka and will discuss different issues including Rohingya crisis and ongoing democratization in Myanmar.

Judith Cefkin will also discuss about her country’s moral obligation regarding human rights and other socio-political issues.

Prior to entering the US state deparment, Cefkin worked as a television news producer at network news affiliates in Denver and Houston. She also worked in Congress’s Office of Technology Assessment and as a legislative intern in the US Senate.
