President Donald Trump revealed on Wednesday a 90-day suspension of his sweeping tariffs, applying a 10% baseline to most countries. 

However, China will face even steeper tariffs, with rates rising to 125%.

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump criticized China for its "lack of respect" toward global markets, declaring, "I am hereby raising the Tariff charged to China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately."

Trump also noted that over 75 nations had requested negotiations regarding the tariffs. 

As a result, he authorized a 90-day pause on the increased tariffs, along with a significant reduction in the reciprocal tariff rate to 10% during this period.
