DHAKA: At least six people were killed and twelve injured in a fire incident at a passenger bus in India`s southern state of Karnataka on Wednesday, says BBC.
The bus, carrying 29 passengers, was travelling from Davanagere to Bangalore, when a leak in the fuel tank caused the blaze.
Bus crashes are common in India and often caused by poorly maintained vehicles, overloading and bad driving.
Police official Srinivas Murthy told the incident happened near Davanagere, a village nearly 260km (160 miles) north-west of Bangalore, the state capital.
In October last year at least 42 people died after the luxury bus accident when they were travelling in caught fire in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh.
Nearly 140,000 people died in road accidents in India in 2012, according to the government`s National Crime Records Bureau.
