DHAKA: Narendra Modi, who will be India’s next prime minister, is holding multiple discussions in Delhi Sunday as he plans government formation.
He also met senior BJP leader LK Advani at the latter’s residence.
Later in the day Modi is expected to meet BJP president Rajnath Singh as he looks to finalise names for his cabinet.
He could also meet the BJP’s ally in its national alliance Ram Vilas Paswan.
Modi is expected to visit the Jhandewala office of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh or RSS to meet its chief Mohan Bhagwat.
The RSS is the ideological mentor of the BJP. Modi is a former RSS pracharak or campaigner.
Before he meets the RSS chief Modi could visit former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, reports NDTV.
At Gujarat Bhawan, where he is staying, Modi was visited by senior BJP leader Ananth Kumar, who had met Advani earlier this morning.
The BJP leadership has to decide what role Advani will play in Modi’s regime. Sources say Advani, who was the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate in 2009, wants to be Lok Sabha Speaker.
Modi met several other leaders at Gujarat Bhawan. Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje and Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio visited him.
BS Yeddyurappa, the controversial former Karnataka chief minister who rejoined the BJP just before the elections and has won from Shimoga, also met Modi.
