Iran carried out a fresh wave of missile attacks on Israel Sunday, hours after U.S. forces joined the conflict and struck three major Iranian nuclear sites.
According to reports, Iran launched 27 missiles in two separate rounds, targeting Tel Aviv and Haifa. At least 11 people were reported injured.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed that Ben Gurion Airport, located near Tel Aviv, was also among the intended targets.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) acknowledged the escalation, stating on X, “Sirens are sounding across Israel due to another Iranian missile barrage.”
The retaliatory strikes came shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that American forces had bombed Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. A US official told Reuters that B-2 stealth bombers participated in the operation.
In a televised address, President Trump declared the strikes a "spectacular military success," claiming that Iran’s nuclear enrichment sites were "completely and totally obliterated."
He described Iran as the “bully of the Middle East” and urged the country to pursue peace, warning that future attacks would be "far greater and a lot easier" if Tehran refused.
Hostilities between Iran and Israel erupted last Friday when the Israeli military initiated “Operation Rising Lion,” targeting Iranian cities amid intelligence assessments that Tehran was nearing nuclear weapons capability.
The two nations have since exchanged repeated missile and drone attacks.
