DHAKA: A teacher rescued from the capsized South Korean ferry has been found hanged on Friday afternoon, reports Wall Street Journal.
The deceased was identified as Kang Min-gyu, 52, was a part of more than 300 teachers and students on board the Sewol ferry and was reported missing on Thursday night.
The group from Danwon High School, in Ansan city south of Seoul, were going on an excursion to the resort island of Jeju.
Police sourced to Wall Street Journal that the deceased’s body was found near the stadium on Jindo island where many of the relatives and rescued people have been staying.
Wall Street Journal said that Mr. Kang was the vice principal at Danwon High School.
As of Friday afternoon, 246 students from the school who took the ferry were still missing; 75 of the students were rescued, and four have been confirmed dead—he might commit suicide over carrying the sadness.
The vice principal was among 179 people who managed to escape the ferry in the few hours before it capsized and sank.
