Blast leaves several dead in Somali capital

DHAKA: At least three people have been killed in a large explosion, possibly a car bomb or roadside bomb, near the centre of the Somali capital Mogadishu.

Somali police said, reports Al Jazeera.

‘So far three people have died and 10 others were injured,’ Farah Nur, a police officer, told the media on Saturday.

‘The explosion was targeted at a government car. We believe the bomb was planted in the ground.’

A Reuters witness saw the wrecked government car and five wounded people lying on the street.

The death toll could rise. Mohammed Duale, a police officer, told medai:

‘Several people have been killed. There are at least seven, including four civilians and three policemen.’
