FROM KOLKATA: In ensuing Indian Lokshova election Congress candidate and state Congress leader Mala Roy has accused Mamata Banarjee for supporting Bangladeshi religious party Jamaat–e-Islami as well as for opposing the Teesta water sharing pact.
The state congress leader has also told that for forming ensuing state government either she will have to beg support from Congress or from BJP.
Mala Roy while campaigning in the New Market area on Sunday afternoon expressed her views in this language to Banglanews.
She told that Mamata Banarjee is showing enmity to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Was it proper on her part! Congress has been maintaining good relations with Awami League since the time of Sheikh Hasina’s father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. But the West Bengal Chief Minister is damaging that relation.
Answering to several questions Mala Roy confidently told that though Mamata is telling against BJP now she will form alliance with them. Either she will beg support of Congress or of BJP. On that occasion as there is some affinity of opinions Mamata will go with BJP.
Regarding Mamata’s love for Bangladesh Mala Roy told that just it her stunt but practically she is not in favor of Bangladesh’s ruling party. Teesta pact is unresolved only due to her stint opposition.
Mala Roy told that Mamata is not telling anything about the enclave problem. This means that both BJP and Trinamool maintain same view about enclave problem.
At last Mala Roy hopes that Teesta pact should be signed immediately. When Congress led NDA-3 government will come to power the Teesta and enclave problems will be resolved.
Mala Roy is hopeful of Congress’s win in the ensuing election. She told that NDA will form government in Delhi like past two occasions.
Mala Roy was earlier elected thrice as Congress candidate in the state assembly. This time she is in the fray of Lokshova election from South Kolkata constituency where BJP’s Tathagata Roy, Trinamool’s Sugata Bose and CPI(ML)’s Dr. Nandini Mukharjee are contesting.
While talking to Banglanews she was seeking votes for Congress.
Though she was telling of Congress’s win but the on going survey does not reflect that reality. All the survey showed the advancement of religion based Nationalist BJP.
However it is difficult to ascertain the election result at the moment. But it is clear that no party is going to secure a single majority.
Under these circumstances the discussions on forming coalition is coming strongly. If there is coalition government then the importance of the regional parties becomes very important. In that case the Trinamool Congress party of Mamata Banarjee will be of very vital.
It is difficult to say now after the election what Mamata Banarjee will do. Will she go with Congress or bind her tie with BJP. At the moment she is not siding strongly with neither Congress or with BJP. On one hand she is scathingly attacking BJP and on the other hand Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is showing unwillingness to take Mamata into confidence.
But there is no last word in politics. So what will really happen in the next election in the largest democracy of the world, everybody will have to wait for some more days.
