DHAKA: National Democratic Alliance (NDA), where Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the key player, is leading the Indian Lok Shaba polls.

After a marathon 9-phase voting, which recorded the highest voter turnout ever at 66.4%, the votes is being counted and the country will finally know the contours of the next Lok Sabha.

Till filing the report, NDA leading in 336 seats, Indian National Congress (INC)-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) in 63 seats while others are leading in 145 constituencies out of 543.

In the meantime, before a single vote was counted, posters appeared overnight across Varanasi congratulating Narendra Modi, the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, for his victory. 

Modi is contesting from Varanasi.  Exit polls show he is likely to be the next prime minister of India.
