DHAKA: The BJP and its allies will form the next government under Narendra Modi, who is headed to the Prime Minister's residence at 7 Race Course Road, Delhi.
They now have a runaway lead with 326 seats and do not need any support to run a stable government. The Congress has been wiped out and has admitted defeat.
Narendra Modi, the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, has won both in Vadodara and Varanasi.
The incumbent Congress has accepted that it has been trounced by the opposition BJP in the national election, but predictably, the party offered cover to frontman Rahul Gandhi, claiming the blame is "collective."
Led by Narendra Modi, its prime ministerial candidate, the BJP is set for a landslide victory. With its allies, the party is expected to get a decisive majority of more than 300 of the 543 parliamentary seats.
