DHAKA: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) seems to be a heading for a dream debut in Punjab with its three candidates leading in Sangrur, Faridkot and Fatehgarh Sahib parliamentary seats, much to the unease of ruling Akali Dal-BJP coalition government in this border state.
Leading the pack of AAP’s stunning performance is comedian Bhagwant Mann (Sangrur) who is leading by over one lakh votes even as just three rounds of counting has concluded so far.
The sitting MP Vijay Inder Singla, as of now, has been relegated to the third position in Sangrur.
But, it is in Faridkot (reserve) Lok Sabha seat where the AAP is pulling off another surprise as its very low profile candidate Professor Sadhu Singh has been leading by over 30,000 votes.
Meanwhile, defying predictions of poll pundits the former diplomat Harinder Singh Khala of the AAP too is surging ahead in Fatehgarh Sahib by nearly 11,000 votes after third round of counting, reports Hindustan Times.
