DHAKA: Violence between Buddhists and Muslims in southern Sri Lanka has left three people dead and at least another 78 seriously injured.
Sri Lanka justice minister said on Monday, reports The Straits Times.
‘Three deaths have occurred,’ minister Rauf Hakeem told reporters in the town of Alutgama, where police have maintained a curfew following clashes late on Sunday between a hardline Buddhist group and local Muslims.
