DHAKA: Some 46 Indian nurses who were freed by militants in war-torn Iraq have returned on Saturday.
Indian newspapers published the report quoting Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
But fate of 10 Bangladeshi nurses, who were with the 46 Indian women in Iraq, is unknown as details about them are not available yet.
The nurses had been living in a hospital in Tikrit, the birthplace of former president Saddam Hussein, which has seen fierce fighting this week as Iraqi troops battle to regain control of the city from the Sunni insurgent group ISIS or the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.
On Thursday, they were forced to board two buses and were taken to Mosul. They were reportedly kept at a hospital there.
When contacted, director general of external publicity department of foreign ministry Salah Uddin Noman Chowdhury said they have no information about the 10 Bangladeshi women yet.
On the other side, Indian media also did not mention about latest conditions of 10 Bangladeshi women.
