DHAKA: In televised comments, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday placed blame for the Malaysia Airlines crash squarely on Ukraine.
“Certainly, the state over whose territory this happened bears responsibility for this terrible tragedy,” Putin said from a meeting with advisers, reports the Washington Post.
Russian President told there this tragedy would not have happened if there was peace in this land, they would not have been renewed war-like actions in the southeast of Ukraine, report said.
It added Putin said the Russian officials would do everything in their power to get an “objective picture” of what happened.
“These are absolutely intolerable things and nobody has the right to move past them without appropriate conclusions and without objective information about what happened being revealed,” Russian President added.
At the meeting where Putin spoke, Russian officials observed a moment of silence.
