MARDEKA SQUARE, FROM KUALA LUMPUR: The Remittance and Investment Fair-2014 for Bangladeshis in Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur began on Sunday.

People from all walks of life gathered in the first day of the fair, said a spot account of the fair. 

The two-day long fair is being organized by Global Air Tours and Travels at Dataran Mardeka Underground Hall.

The fair will remain open from 10:00am to 7:00pm.

A Malaysian company Oasan-al-Imam Group Chairman Jainul Azizi Bin M Yusuf inaugurated the fair on Sunday noon where its board of directors Dr Samshul Anwar Bin M Halif was present as special guest.

Addressing the inauguration program, M Yusuf said there are huge scopes for Bangladeshis to trade here but they need joint venture.

However, the Malaysian businessmen would also help the Bangladeshis in trade, he added.

In the fair some participated company are Partex Group, BD Thai Food, Sunlife Insurance Limited, Bahrain Remittance Company (BFC), Shapla City Limited, UAE Exchange, City Bank, Pragati Life Insurance Limited, Western Union, Ekushey Holidays.

Sources said Malaysian citizens also visited the fair along with Bangladeshis.

A cultural program was organized for the visitors after the fair was inaugurated.
