Pilgrims march to Mina as hajj begins Friday

RIYADH: Over two million pilgrims started marching to Mina as the ceremonial activities of hajj, one of five essentially-performed duties of Islam, scheduled to begin on Friday.

The pilgrims will perform hajj activities for next five days.

This year Bangladeshi pilgrims are performing hajj under government arrangement will stay at guide (moallem) tent no- 22 whereas who went there under non-government arrangement will stay at the tents no--4, 14, 18, 22, 25, 53, 58, 66, 71, 72, 77, 80, 81, 84, 85, 86, 87, 89, 90, 93, 95, 95, 98 and 115.

Meanwhile, huge jam has appeared on way to Mina due to the congregation since Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, Saudi authorities tightened the security in Makkah and its adjacent areas.

Over 100,000 security personnel are on-duty. Armed and special forces have been kept on alert; copters remain prepared to prevent any causality.

A total of 25,000 health workers and 14,000 other workers have been assisting the hajj pilgrims.
