DHAKA: At least 50 people have been killed in an accident involving a bus and a truck in southern Pakistan.
The passenger bus collided head-on with the truck near the city of Khairpur in Sindh province, officials say, reports the BBC.
The bus was reportedly on its way from Swat, in the north-west, to the port city of Karachi.
Deadly accidents are common on Pakistan’s roads, often caused by reckless driving, poorly maintained surfaces or unsuitable vehicles.
Women and children are among the dead in the latest crash. At least 10 people were hurt.
A police official told the Associated Press news agency that heavy fog may have been a factor in the accident.
