KOLKATA: Maitree Express trains will run thrice a week between Dhaka and Kolkata from Sunday.

Sources of India’s Eastern Railway authorities confirmed the matter to banglanews.  

The 13107 Maitree Express will leave Dhaka every Friday while 13108 Maitree Express will start from Kolkata every Saturday, the source added.

The 13109 Maitree Express will start from Kolkata every Tuesday and Sunday instead of only Tuesday, the sources added.

According to the sources, 13110 Maitree Express will leave Dhaka every Wednesday and Monday instead of only Wednesday.

The Maitree Express on Dhaka-Kolkata route was introduced in 2008.

Bangladesh and India, on April 10, 2008, signed a bilateral agreement to run a passenger train – Maitree Express – between Kolkata and Dhaka.
