DHAKA: A French police commissioner has allegedly killed himself with his police-issued gun hours after he was ordered to investigate the ‘Charlie Hebdo’ magazine massacre.
Local media reported, says The Straits Times.
Helric Fredou, 45, who was said to be suffering from depression, reportedly shot himself in his office in Limogesa, a city in central France, on the night of January 7, according to France 3.
He had just interviewed the family of a victim of the Charlie Hebdo shooting before his reported suicide.
Fredou began his career as a police officer in 1997 and had been the deputy director of the regional police since 2012, the Daily Mail reported.
